(See 'How to make a butterfly to tap with')

Bluey's magical dance... condensed from some of the different stories.... (simply to tap without the stories!)

Bluey the butterfly would land right at the top of his(her) head and flutter his wings a few times. Then down between his(her) eyebrows and along one… following the bony ridge around the eye like a branch, pausing to gently tap his wings at the side and under the eye, as if to collect nectar from a flower.

Then Bluey would fly under his(her) nose, then under the mouth on the chin. Bluey then flew to his(her) chest and jumping up and down, fluttering his wings. (He liked to make the shape of a butterfly!).Then round and round his(her) hand. Across his(her) wrist from thumbtip to fingertip, not missing any and down the side of his(her) hand!

Often Bluey started softly singing his magical song and vibrating his wings faster and faster until a beautiful blue light shone all over him, and all around him!

Bluey would do the dance all over again! And again if needed until he(she) felt much better... sometimes he(she) might dream of better times and see the picture change to a much happier one... and so could feel washed clean of all the unhappy feelings and filled with a shining new happiness in every part of them especially their heart...and Bluey liked to fly round and round him(her) to help send that happy feeling out to all the world even to the stars!

The dances from the stories....

From Little Monkey and Bluey the Butterfly:

Bluey would land on Little Monkey’s head, right at the top and flutter its wings a few times. Then down between his eyebrows and along one… following the bony ridge around the eye like a branch, pausing at the side and under the eye, as if to collect nectar from a flower.
Then Bluey would fly under his nose, this usually tickled quite a bit, then under the mouth on the chin.
That was the first bit of Bluey’s dance… then Bluey would flutter down to Little Monkey’s chest and jump up and down (a butterfly is of course not very heavy!) Little Monkey knew this place well as he and his monkey friends often pounded this place with their hands! (Sometimes Bluey would even go under Little Monkey’s arm to the place monkey’s like to scratch!!!! … that was only if little monkey was feeling extra bad that day ...and sometimes that tickled a lot!).
Bluey, the butterfly, would then flutter on to the inside of Little Monkey’s wrist, and while jumping and fluttering from thumbtip to fingertip, not missing any and down the side of his hand, Bluey would ask if he was feeling any better yet or if there was any other thing bothering him…
And if there was, well Bluey would do the dance all over again! And again if needed until Little Monkey felt much better.

From Little Monkey and the cave:

Bluey landed on Little Monkey’s head, right at the top and fluttered his wings a few times. Then down between his eyebrows and along one… following the bony ridge around the eye … Little Monkey started to feel a bit more relaxed and closed his eyes...
Bluey then flew under his nose,  then to his chin.
… then Bluey’s favourite bit … going down to Little Monkey’s chest and jumping up and down (he liked to make the shape of a butterfly) Today he flew and crawled in the small space under Little Monkey’s arm to the place little monkey liked to scratch … because he was feeling extra bad that day.
Then fluttering to the inside of Little Monkey’s wrist, and jumped and fluttered from thumbtip to fingertip, not missing any and down the side of his hand.
Bluey asked if he was feeling any better yet… Little Monkey was … he had been dreaming of playing with lots of friends who really liked him and he felt happy and safe …playing  games and swinging through the trees!
Bluey told him to feel that happy feeling in every part of his body from his head to his toes… and make it so strong and bright … then he could send that happy feeling out to the whole world … just in case there was anyone else feeling down that day!

From Little Monkey and the Tiny Mermaid:

When Bluey softly landed on her head and started fluttering his wings, she closed her eyes and went into a dream. Bluey very gently danced the magic dance, humming a song to himself ...down to her forehead and along her glistening eyebrow ...to the side of her eye and below (careful not to get too wet from the tears that were still sticking to her big eyelashes
He then fluttered under her little nose and under her mouth. Her gentle sigh helped him fly down to her chest and...
...just below the neckline of her shimmering pearl, beaded top, he danced in the shape of a butterfly! ...the tiny mermaid seemed to be asleep so Bluey danced on and on until she opened her eyes.
He then flew to Little Monkey’s hand which held hers and he flew round and round, on her wrist, on her finger tips and down the side of her hand. She smiled and said the pain was much less now and she felt a lot better.

Little Monkey's Bad Dream:

Bluey started softly singing his magical song and started vibrating his wings faster and faster until a beautiful blue light shone all over him, and all around him!
The light glowed softly in the dark tree top and Little Monkey began to feel less scared…
Bluey then gently jumped on to Little Monkey's chest, right near his heart which was thumping loudly, and lay for a while with his wings open. Bluey looked up into Little Monkey's face and waited until his breathing had calmed. Little Monkey watched the blue glowing butterfly and felt much better, and said 'Yes please,' when Bluey asked if he could do his special dance.
Bluey flew to the top of Little Monkey's head to start his dance, then down to his forehead and right around his eye, under his nose and mouth and then back to his chest. Then round and round his hand.

Little monkey had closed his eyes but big tears were streaming so Bluey had to be really careful not to get wet! Little monkey cried and cried and Bluey kept dancing and dancing, singing his gentle song and shining his beautiful blue light.
